Comments On This Entry Chris Rozoff writes: I think all the new rap groups don't pay enough hommage to our field anymore. I mean, common, Ludicrus, 50 cent, Nelly, Jay-Z, etc?...just no hommage Back in the day, it was: Ice-T (ice thermodynamics) EPMD - Eliassen-Palm Meridional Dynamics LL Cool J - Low-level Jets (which are "cool" for convective activity) Run-DMC - Obviously hommage to deep, moist convection 2Pac - Obviously cared about both hurricane/typhoon basins in the Pacific All the new kids have to do is look back at their roots: Ja-Rule Charney, L Fly Richardson, Mix-master Ross-B, etc. Matt Rogers writes: Such behavior is reprehensible at best, and at worst, threatens to undermine the seminal research performed by these performers by calling undue attention to their admittedly impressive skills with a mic. As an example, I'll point out the influential body of works of Hip-Hop Professor Eric Wright, whose many works on desert hydrology and the magnitude of the evaporative processes therein are overshadowed by his work with NWA, and only tangentially remembered in his moniker 'Eazy-E', which really referred to the preferential evaporation processes he devoted his life's studies to.
